Seoul [South Korea], May 19: North Korea has criticized plans for joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea, while Washington has criticized Pyongyang's plan to launch a spy satellite.
North Korea criticized the United States and South Korea's plan to launch a joint military drill with live-fire next week, saying it was a "war rehearsal" against Pyongyang, Yonhap news agency reported on May 19.
South Korea and the United States plan to conduct military exercises from May 25 to June 15 to mark the 70th anniversary of the alliance's founding. As planned, the exercise involved modern weapons systems such as F-35A fighters, AH-64 Apache attack helicopters, K2 tanks and Chunmoo rocket launchers.
