New Delhi [India], March 4: A Flag-off ceremony for the "Mother on Wheels" initiative took place today at the Chief Minister's Office in Delhi. The event celebrated the remarkable journey of five inspiring mothers who are embarking on a self-driven car expedition from India to Southeast Asia, and then to Australia and New Zealand, setting a powerful example for the mothers across the world.
"Mother on Wheels" is an initiative by the Foundation for Holistic Development (FHD) which involves traveling to study and raise awareness about the crucial role mothers play in raising children with strong values, highlighting the importance of a mother's influence on holistic development across various aspects of a child's life
The event was graced by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta as the Chief Guest, with the esteemed Padma Bhushan awardee, Sonal Mansingh, as the Guest of Honour, and Dr. Dhurv Galgotia, the CEO of Galgotias University, as the chief knowledge partner of the "Mother on Wheels" initiative.
During the ceremony, Dr. Dhurv Galgotia delivered a powerful speech emphasizing the importance of the "Mother on Wheels" initiative. Dr. Galgotia highlighted how this initiative is crucial in empowering women, enabling them to be more self-reliant and contribute to society in meaningful ways.
Dr. Galgotia remarked, "This expedition is more than a road trip--it is a symbolic journey of resilience. It reminds us that the role of a mother is universal, transcending cultures, geographies, and generation. These five mothers, through their adventurous spirit, are sending a strong message: that nothing is impossible when passion, perseverance, and purpose come together.
Smt. Sonal Mansingh, in her address, lauded the initiative and stressed the role of cultural and social empowerment in achieving gender equality. "This program is a testament to how mobility can transform lives, enabling women to break barriers and participate more actively in societal growth," she said.
The Chief Minister of Delhi, in her address, reaffirmed the government's support for such initiatives and emphasized on the importance on mothers in building of nation.
The event concluded with a symbolic flag off by the honourable Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta, with the esteemed Padma Bhushan awardee, Smt. Sonal Mansingh, and Dr. Dhurv Galgotia, the CEO of Galgotias University marking the launch of their new journey in the empowerment of women.
